The Abacus Concept® range sets new standards in performance in the urban lighting environment.
Designed and developed by Abacus alongside a complementary range of aesthetic lighting columns at a height of 5m to 8m, Concept® guarantees the lifelong qualities that have come to be associated with Abacus products and service over the last 50 years.

Design
The range is styled in three distinct themes, offering four models designed to enhance different settings.
Each theme embodies and reflects the particular architecture of an era, capturing the heritage of older towns, echoes of new suburbia and the modern simplicity of the contemporary environment.

Different with a Purpose
The range is uniquely developed around a die cast aluminium central chassis, designed to accommodate a variety of different canopies and brackets which can be mounted into a number of fixing points, both at the sides and on top.
80% Recyclable
Such a design approach enables the product to be 80% recyclable, well in excess of WEEE recommended levels.
Lamp Options
The range can accommodate up to 250W SON-T and 70w/150w HCI-T lamps. Control gear (standard and electronic, up to 150W) is accommodated within the chassis; optics and gear are sealed to
IP65
(Note: gear space may be restricted in some variable reflector options)
Flat glass or a low bowl profile are offered on the more contemporary designs, while the Classic offers a deep bowl better to remain in keeping with the period feel of its typical environment.
Performance
Concept® sets new standards in performance, offering the designer versatility in designing schemes to suit the project.
The emphasis remains on reducing both the number of lighting points through optimum reflector design, and reducing the environmental impact through upward light.
Both these objectives are achieved with the new ‘Variable Reflector’, a protected design. Nine moveable fins provide for 4 different reflector shapes, each one offering excellent possibilities for different applications:
5° beam for Footpath Lighting
15° beam for effective lighting of roads
30° beam for car park and area lighting, in a twin lantern arrangement
