Maintenance of High Mast Lighting Systems
From your own experience, you know that your high mast installation requires regular and often challenging maintenance.
This may involve
- Specialist high platform equipment for accessing the headframe.
- Specialist equipment to lower either the complete base hinged mast or the lowering headframe itself to ground level.
- High cost insurance for maintenance personnel to climb masts to carry out servicing of floodlights and masts.
- Certification of electrical equipment in accordance with NICEIC.
- Visual checks on structures and foundation bolts (recommended every 12 years at least) and any follow up works needed as a result. Masts are designed for a 25 year life (ILE Technical Report No.7), provided ongoing maintenance is carried out.
