Foundation Design Matrix

The structures are flange mounted onto concrete foundations; we are able to provide guidance on foundation design through our standard foundations section.

These are standard designs carried out to British standards; the specific foundation for your location can be determined once the site ground bearing pressures are identified.

European Standard: BS EN 61400-2

If the wind turbines are designed and produced to this European standard, the full design loads operating on the mast structure will result from the design calculation.

From these loads Abacus will design the optimal structure accordingly to your specific requirements, based on your choice of the structure type.

Abacus operates a 15m press brake which provides you with the minimum number of shaft sections (depending on the height of the mast), so reducing assembly and installation costs.
